Several bills have been introduced in Olympia regarding the WASL and hearings started this week. Many of these bills propose alternatives to relying strictly on the WASL as a requirement of graduation. Jenny Cunningham talks to some of the movers and shakers behind the WASL, including former governor Booth Gardner who started the test in 1993. We also hear from kids in the hot seat – students who will take the first high-stakes test this April. Following Jenny’s report, Enrique Cerna hosts a panel on the WASL and takes viewer questions and comments.
